Will the UN Survive Into the Next Century?
Paul Kennedy, professor of history at Yale University, is author of the
best-selling book The Rise and Fall of Great Powers.
In 1995 he authored a report titled "The United
Nations in Its Second Half-Century" for the Independent Working Group
on the Furture of the United Nations co-chaird by former German President
Richard von Weizsacker and Moeen Qureshi, the former prime minister of
Pakistan.
New York - The chief problems faced by a trouble
United Nations today are ones its founders did not address, because of
historical circumstances, when they established the international body
50 years ago.
