Where once containment of communism defined America's
main presence globally, now entertainment does. MTV has gone where the
CIA could never penetrate. Where once there were Green Berets and ugly
Americans, now there are Small Soldiers, a DreamWorks production, and
glamorous movie stars. Even Henry Kissinger, the hardheaded geopolitician,
has gone to work for Disney, the soft superpower.
