For a Global Center Left

We on the center left around the world - from United States President Bill Clinton to Brazilian President Fernando Henrique Cardoso - must try to put ourselves at the forefront of those who are trying to manage social change in the global economy. The old left resisted that change. The new right did not want to manage it. But to produce both social solidarity and prosperity we have to manage that change.
