Joan Didion


Joan Didion is an journalist, novelist and a member of the NPQ Board of Advisors. Her works include the novels Run River, A Book of Common Prayer and Democracy. She also authored books of essays including, The White Album, After Henry, and Slouching Towards Bethlehem.

Didion was the associate feature editor for Vogue magazine, and a former columnist for publications such as the Saturday Evening
Post, Life, and Esquire. She is also a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Didion currently lives with her husband John in New York and has one daughter, Quintana.
